Cedric brings experience and perspective from years working in creative fields, managing arts organizations, and sharing a passion for the arts with students from elementary through college levels.
Cedric has appeared on stage as a performer in Dreamgirls, Songs for a New World, Xanadu, The Wild Party, and Lillian Hellman’s The Children’s Hour. When musically directing, Cedric's focus is on aiding the story-telling through the music. Cedric's approach encourages actors to examine the text and make musical choices that support the story; even down to a simple breath.
In addition to leading an exciting life as a performing artist, Cedric is known for work as a composer and an arranger. The original work 7:32 the musical was featured at the 2012 New York Musical Festival in addition to winning Best Musical in 2009 at The Kennedy Center’s American College Theater Festival. Recently, Cedric's show Delilah: a new musical, was featured at Atlas Performing Arts Center in Washington, DC.
Hope Kent's journey is a testament to her unwavering commitment to personal and professional growth. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a minor in education from Morgan State University and continued her academic pursuits with a Master of Arts in Teaching from Cambridge College. Currently, she is on the path to obtaining a doctoral degree in Organizational Leadership at Grand Canyon University.
With a career spanning over 18 years, Hope is a seasoned music educator, enriching the lives of young minds with her knowledge and passion for music. Her true calling, however, lies in her fervent support for youth. As the Executive Director of Purposefully Empowering And Reaching Little Sisters (P.E.A.R.L.S.), a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young ladies, she has made a profound impact on the lives of many.
But Hope's talents and interests extend beyond education. With a background deeply rooted in the arts and an innate flair for creativity, she has embraced the digital era as a social media manager and content creator. Her unique ability to blend artistic sensibilities with the digital world has proven invaluable for various organizations and businesses. Kevin S. McAllister was most recently cast in the revival of CAROLINE OR CHANGE alongside Cassie Levy, Sharon D. Clarke and Broadway legend Chip Zien. He was also recently seen in the hit Broadway musical, COME FROM AWAY. When not in NYC, he can be seen often on regional stages around Washington D.C where he is a two time Helen Hayes Award winning actor with 12 nominations under his belt. His favorite roles being The Tin Man in THE WIZ, Coalhouse Walker Jr. in RAGTIME, and Tom Collins in RENT. Regional venues include The Kennedy Center, Arena Stage, Cleveland Playhouse, Signature Theatre, and Ford’s Theatre. Mr. McAllister’s opera background has also afforded him the opportunity to perform in Washington National Opera’s revival of Kurt Weill’s LOST IN THE STARS with Eric Owens. He’s participated in several world premieres and workshops with works written by Pasek and Paul, Jeanine Tesori, Rowe and Dempsey and living legend Bruce Hornsby. As an actor, Kevin is a firm believer in the idea of reimagining roles and has often taken on roles not originally written for African-American actors. Regionally, he has played Daddy Warbucks in Annie, File in 110 IN THE SHADE, Murdoch in TITANIC THE MUSICAL, Herman Preysing in GRAND HOTEL, and Burrs in THE WILD PARTY.
When not on the stage, Kevin is the artistic director of ArtsCentric, a performing arts organization in Baltimore dedicated to re-examining traditional roles in the arts. He has served on the production team of various works that have been featured at Ford’s Theatre, Toby’s Dinner Theatre, NextStop Theatre, Olney Theatre and Monumental Theatre Company. He is also a recurring guest lecturer at Montgomery College, American University, Howard University, University of Maryland and in January 2021 will join the Musical Theatre Department at Catholic University. In November 2020, Kevin was nominated as DC’s Artist of The Decade by Broadway World for his continued commitment to arts advancement in Maryland/DC region. He was also selected as the Director of the Decade by Broadway World in the Baltimore region goals.
is a native of Detroit, MI. He graduated from Morgan State University with a B.A. in music and a B.S. in mathematics and holds an M.M. in voice from the University of Cincinnati's College Conservatory of Music. As Minnesota Opera's first resident artist countertenor he performed the role of Cherubino in Mozart's Le nozze di Figaro and covered Nicklausse in Offenbach's Les Contes de Hoffman. With Urban Opera he performed the role of 1st Witch in Purcell’s Dido and Aneas. Most recently, he returned to Minnesota Opera as the Refugee in Jonathan Dove’s Flight and made his European Opera debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich as Narisco in Handel’s Agrippina. As a concert artist he has appeared in solo performances of Purcell’s Come Ye Sons of Art with Symphony Silicon Valley, J.S Bach's Cantata 147 Herz und Mund und Tod und Leben with the Dayton Philharmonic, R. Nathaniel Dett's The Ordering of Moses and Adolphus Hailstork's Done Made My Vow with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Rachmaninov's Vespers in St. Petersburg, Russia, and Wynton Marsallis's All Rise with the Lincoln Center Jazz Ensemble. Cortez has received awards from the National Opera Association, The Washington International competition and the Houston Grand Opera Eleanor McCollum competition.
